Local information

Practical information on travel, accommodation, etc. for participants is being provided here. Should you have any further question, please feel free to contact us.

Accommodation

Participants accommodated in Domus Collegium Hungaricum (1146 Budapest, Abonyi utca 10.) can find further information (including the address, phone numbers and a Google map) here. We apologize for the lack of information in English, but you will be able to pick up all contact information.

Public transport trip planner to/from the Domus Guesthouse. You can switch it to English with the flag in the upper right corner.

Airport transfer

We highly recommend you to check the relevant information on the website of Budapest Airport. Non-regulated taxi service providers should be avoided. The best option to your accommodation is probably taking either a licensed taxi, or the miniBUD shuttle.

The airport shuttle bus run by the public transport company is yet another option. It is ideal to travel directly to the conference venue on Tuesday (get off at Astoria, the corner of Rákóczi út and Múzeum körút), but much less so to the accommodation in Domus Collegium (see notes below).

Public transport

Please check the website of the Budapest Transport Centre for:

To travel between the Domus Guesthouse (1146 Budapest, Abonyi utca 10.) and Astoria (the place where the Tuesday programme takes place, but also where you can get off the airport shuttle bus, should you choose that option), you can make use of the following bus lines: 5, 7, 110 and 112 (as well as night lines 907 and 973). The name of the stop close to the Domus Guesthouse is Cházár András utca. In both cases, ask for the buses bound to Keleti (a.k.a. Eastern railway station), located between Astoria and Cházár András utca, so that the local can best help you. Make sure, however, not to take buses 8E, 108E, 133E or 178, which run in the same direction (or at least the average local will think so), but do not stop at Cházár András utca.
